Five new engines based on the principle of downsizing provide high performance at more than reasonable consumption. The supercharged TSI petrol engines and TDI diesel engines with common-rail system are complemented by balanced chassis, communications control and precise gear shifts.
This combination makes of the Roomster the ideal partner for all travel situations. The offer of engines for the Roomster is based on the need to protect the environment and to reduce CO2 emissions. For this reason all engines meet EU5 norms.
Petrol Engine
The new 1.2 TSI petrol engine are flexible, quiet and economical. The offer includes performance variants 63 kW and 77 kW. The group is supplemented by the modernised three-cylinder 1.2 12V HTP/51 kW engine.
Diesel Engine
The diesel engines with common-rail direct fuel injection system are cultivated and quiet and fuel consumption is extraordinarily low. The most powerful is the new supercharged four-cylinder 1.6 TDI CR DPF/77 kW. An alternative is the version with an output of 66 kW and a 1.2 TDI CR/55 kW engine.
Manual transmission
All the engines can be combined with a five-speed mechanical transmission system. These systems offer a precise and easy gear sift with the minimal transfer of noise and vibration into the vehicle interior.
Automatic transmission
The new seven-speed DSG transmission system designed exclusively for the most powerful 1.2 TSI/77 kW petrol engine is the guarantee of a comfortable and yet dynamic journey with excellent fuel consumption.
