ŠKODA Drive for Life puts disadvantaged youth in the driver's seat

Last year ŠKODA, in partnership with carsguide.com.au, launched Drive for Life at The Salvation Army Oasis Youth Support Network in Sydney. By providing three Yetis, ŠKODA is giving disadvantaged young people the chance to gain their driver's licence and their independence.

Director of Oasis, Captain Robbin Moulds said: “The majority of young people who come to Oasis are without family support networks to teach them to drive, don't have access to vehicles and can't afford professional daily lessons. This programme gives them a great opportunity to learn to drive safely, responsibly and defensively.”

Drive for Life is off to a flying start, with 75 young people at Oasis currently waiting to learn how to drive and plans to expand the programme nationally.

Head of ŠKODA Australia Matthew Wiesner said: “We're proud to partner with the Oasis Youth Support Network to offer this life-changing opportunity to many young Australians. ŠKODA's partnership is the perfect way for us to put something back into the community.”
