Space and power

One of the Superb values is its extraordinary spaciousness. For example, the space for passengers’ legs in the back seats are a comfortable 157mm and the volume of the luggage space is 565 litres with the seats upright. A range of engines are available, including the petrol four-cylinder 1.8 TSI with a power output of 118kW (with a 7-speed DSG gearbox). It reaches a torque of 250Nm between 1500 and 4500 revs. It can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 8.5 seconds. The engine has a favourable combined consumption – 8.4L/100km.

Škoda Superb

TSI engine

Combined with the 7-speed DSG transmission, the latest 118kW TSI petrol engine helps create excellent fuel efficiency while delivering high torque at low revs (max 250Nm/1500-4500rpm) and a continuous, smooth surge of power. CO2 emissions are also reduced for a cleaner, more environmentally friendly drive.

Škoda Superb

TDI with 6-speed DSG

The 6-speed Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) offers the control, low fuel consumption and sporty character of a manual gearbox, with all the comfort and convenience of an automatic. The 2.0 TDI engine is another innovation from the Volkswagen Group that delivers impressively low fuel consumption (6.9L/100km) while delivering dynamic power and high torque, providing a more pleasurable driving experience. And, the intuitive DSG and diesel engine combine to ensure the Superb TDI is easier on the environment, producing only 182g/km of CO2 emissions.

3.6 FSI

The top of the range drive unit for the Superb is a six-cylinder 3.6 FSI with a power output of 191kW. A 6-speed automatic dual-clutch DSG gearbox (Direct Shift Gearbox) links the benefits of mechanical and standard automatic transmissions, while the direct injection system enables a stratified fuel charge combustion for improved fuel efficiency, and reduced emission levels.

Škoda Superb

Automatic 7-speed DSG

Exclusively designed for the 1.8 TSI/118kW engine, the 7-speed DSG transmission represents a unique new technology. With a seventh gear, DSG transmissions have even smoother shifting, therefore utilising the maximum potential of the engine’s torque. Smooth yet fast gear changes create not only a pleasant driving experience behind the wheel, but also favourable fuel consumption. The essential component of the new 7-speed DSG is its ‘dry’ running clutch. It dispenses with the oil bath needed in conventional designs.
