Škoda Australia

If there are two things Australians love, it’s a good car and a good deal. So, it was only a matter of time before Škoda made its move Down Under. Since arriving in 2007, over 50,000 Australians have been enjoying Škoda’s European quality, without the European price tag.

The first models to launch in Australia were the Octavia and the ROOMSTER. Since then, Škoda has released over 15 new cars in five great value models. You can test drive these at any of our Škoda dealerships across the country. Simply click here to find your nearest Škoda dealer.

And, although we’ve only been in Australia for a relatively short time, we’ve caught our fair share of attention. Our commitment to value and innovation has been recognised locally by several prestigious judges and award shows. Meanwhile, we’ve been honoured to receive a number of international accolades too.

Škoda Worldwide

In 1895, our founders, Václav Laurin and Václav Klement, said, “Only the best we can do is good enough for our customers."

Today, over 120 years later, this ongoing commitment has led Škoda to become one of Europe’s leading car manufacturers and enabled it to expand to over 100 countries worldwide.

At the heart of our company is the Škoda head office in the Czech Republic, where we’ve grown to become one of the largest companies and a key player in the economy. In fact, we employ over 23,500 people, working with a further 265 subcontractors. This makes up 7.5% of all exports out of the Czech Republic.

While we’re talking numbers, you’ll find full transparency with regular financial results reports, annual reports and independent audits. We’re confident they reflect our best efforts for our customers, just as our founders would have wanted.

Volkswagen Group

In 1991, Škoda proudly joined the Volkswagen family. As the largest car manufacturer globally, the Volkswagen Group annually provides customers with an average of more than five million cars — about 12% of the world car market.

It’s a big family. The Group is made up of 12 brands from seven European countries: Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Audi, SEAT, Škoda, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, Ducati, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Scania and MAN.

It’s diverse, too. Each brand has its own character and operates as an independent entity on the market. The products include motorcycles, low-consumption small cars, luxury vehicles and heavy trucks.

As you’d expect, it gets very busy. The Group operates 100 production plants in 19 European countries and a further eight countries in the Americas, Asia and Africa. Every weekday, 550,000 employees worldwide produce around 37,700 vehicles. The Volkswagen Group models are sold in more than 153 countries around the world.

Most importantly, it’s supportive. Since Škoda became a member of the Volkswagen Group, the brand has more than quintupled its deliveries to 939,200 cars in 2012. Today, Škoda is one of the most successful automobile brands, offering nine model lines and having established a presence in more than 100 countries worldwide.
